Today is a cool, damp day, and that prompts me (The BeeKeepers Wife) to have a cup of tea with some our delicious Lieber Honey. I love honey. Almost as much as I love my BeeKeeper! And that’s a lot.
As we moved from the harvest time of Indian Summer, we have landed squarely inside Fall. The leaves here have been raining down like great, heavy snowflakes. And the acorns like tiny cannons spewed from the boughs of sturdy old oaks. Perhaps they are anxious to produce offspring before the big sleep of Winter.
At any rate, the change in season makes me want hot tea. And what better with that than a spoonful of honey? And sipping a cup of hot tea near my lighted Christmas tree puts me quite well into a state of holiday cheer.
So, feeling gifty, and not yet ready to wrap our packages, I took some Muth jars and tied festive ribbons on them. These are beautiful jars and they make lovely gifts with just a simple ribbon. A simple hostess gift, something for a friend, or for your favorite tea aficionado. . . The BeeKeeper wants me to add that honey is excellent in coffee as well. It is.
Put a ribbon festooned jar into a basket with cheeses, salami, nuts, crackers or good bread, jam, smoked salmon, tea and you’ll have a very fine gift basket.
I invite you to think about how sweet the holidays are, how much sweetness those you love bring to your life, and how much sweetness something simple like local, raw honey can add to your experience of a simple cup of tea or coffee. I invite you to think about sharing some with friends this season as well.
Blessings for your Holiday Season!
